Minority in the Central European Region with a Focus on a Status of People of Slovak Ethnic Origin

Qualitative research

Slováci v zahraničíDonor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia

Period: November 2005 - January 2006

The analysis was focused on comparative mapping of the status of Slovak national minorities in Central European region. Analysis has been prepared due to changes after the entry of Slovakia into the European Union. Slovakia these days has new opportunities to influence position of Slovak minorities in Central European countries and to foster new quality of relations with neighbors. Analysis is based, however, on non-ethnic anti-primordial understanding of a nation and offers ideas on paradigm changes of politics aimed on so-called ex-patriots.

Findings of the analysis here.
